DENOTATION: In the IT film poster your able to see a little boy in a yellow rain coat facing towards a clown holding a balloon. The clown is hidden in the dark and your not really able to see him/her properly.
CONNOTATION: The clown in the background is partly hidden in the darkness, this may signify that he/she is a villain (bad person) in the film and is up to no good. The darkness and the brightly coloured clown can help us understand that the movie is horror.
